These antique Victorian long heart earrings are set with Turquoise stones, Circa 1880.
Set in 15ct Yellow Gold.
The earrings boast a top love heart with a central Turquoise stone which lead down a lovely Gold gallery to a slightly larger drop love heart.
The Turquoise stone has healing properties, it protects the wearer from negative energy and brings good fortune. Turquoise is the symbol of friendship, and also brings peace to the home. It is also a symbol of forget me not.
Forget-me-not, O Lord! is what a poor German knight shouted as he fell into a river. He and his lady were picking flowers by the side of the river at the time when the poor knight suddenly fell in and sank to the bottom. This little tale reportedly dates to around the 15th century.
Set with Gold sturdy shepherd hook wires.
These earrings have lovely workmanship all round and are steeped in history.
